PART 1
The quality of an acoustic guitar does not necessarily depend on what brand it is but rather what wood is used.
We will now briefly get things rolling with the first out of three types that we are going to touch upon.
Plywood
This is considered the lower grade amongst the acoustic guitars. The top of the guitar is usually made using Spruce Veneer laminated plywood. The back and sides of the guitar on the other hand is generally made using hardwoods such as a Mahogany Plywood. Certain unconventional methods of using cheaper quality materials have also been discovered in the industry nowadays.
The sound for this guitar has been found to have no body and contains little to no resonance. It is broadly used for general practicing. The cost ranges from $50 - $300 depending on the brand of the guitar.
To accommodate for the lack of resonance and body in terms of sound, the Dreadnaught shape is frequently used. Due to the cheap material used, you will end up having a discordance in the intonations and not much of a guitar “feel”. In general, this guitar is not recommended for lasting use.
